Christmas is one of our favorite times of the year to celebrate with our BC family. For the past several years, we have taken a special overnight trip to the beach with our BC teens as well as all of our education students and their families. It has been a wonderful way to get outside of the city and enjoy Christmas together in a more relaxed setting. As the education program continues to grow (we have 29 students this year), the logistics and cost of taking everyone on such an involved trip have become difficult. So this year, we are changing things up a bit:
We will still take our BC teens and staff on the overnight trip to Tela, a beach a few hours away from the city. The trip will take place Dec. 7th and 8th. The cost is $150 per teen and $100 per staff member to cover an individual’s food, lodging, transportation and gifts for the weekend. Below you can find the profiles of the teens and staff still needing sponsorship.
For our education students, this year we will be taking a day trip on Dec. 1 to a water park located about an hour outside of the city. The park is really nice, and the kids haven’t been there before, so we think they will really enjoy it. Plus, taking a day trip means that none of their parents have to coordinate getting a day off from work, which is another aspect of the overnight trip that has become difficult. Thanks to generous sponsors, all of our private education students are already covered for the water park trip!
Even though the parents of our education students won’t be going on an overnight trip this year, we would still like to give a little extra to some families who could really use it during the holiday season. The cost to sponsor a family is $100. The profiles of the families in need of sponsorship are listed below.
If you are not able to do a full sponsorship but would still like to contribute a smaller amount, all extra donations will be used to help additional church families during the Christmas season and also help with teen transportation to visit their families during the holiday break.
