Izaac, Ricardo and Eunice
Ask any of us, and we will tell you 2019 proved a hard year. We learned a new accounting system, trained new employees, suffered through fires, lost beloved kids, waded through new trauma and the list continues. But we also witnessed the good, the bright and the beautiful. One of those bright spots shown through four of our kids graduating from both middle and high school, respectively.
Maholy
Maholy has gone to Santa Monica for years now, and last month we had the chance to see her graduate from ninth grade, receiving a medal for her academic excellence and recognition for her exemplary behavior. Maholy has always been focused and diligent in her school work, so we are proud to see that rewarded and reflected in her 91 percent average.
Izaac
Izaac graduated from ninth grade in December, and he also got a medal for his academic excellence. We celebrated this accomplishment by fulfilling his dream of receiving training to become a coffee barista, a growing employment field in Honduras. We hope we can see both Maholy and Izaac graduate from high school in a few years. Please keep them in your prayers!
Eunice and Ricardo
Eunice and Ricardo both graduated from high school with an emphasis information technology. Ricardo has lived with us for four years, and we’ve seen incredible growth in him during that time. As he walked across the stage, we beamed with pride to think of all he’s been through and all he’s accomplished.
Eunice has lived with us for two years and is always a light. She shined on stage receiving her medal for academic excellence, and her mother who was able to attend could not have prouder to see her daughter be recognized. We are proud of both of these kids for fighting through their past and never giving up on their goals.
Eunice plans to enter the military, and Ricardo plans to attend college while also pursuing his passion for music. Please continue to keep these two in your prayers as they take their next steps.
Eunice and her mother
We believe education provides an opportunity to break the cycle of poverty within these kids’ lives. No matter where they go in life they will face it with a better education and the knowledge they have a family here with us. God is doing great things in all four of those lives. Thank you to their sponsors for making all this possible! You can view more photos on our Facebook album here.
