Our next staff member to share their testimony about serving others through food bags is Rony, another one of our loving house parents. Please take a quick moment to read his words of gratitude and heartbreak.
“The help for our country, that this ministry has given during this pandemic, has been incredible. I thank God that he always continues to put kind people in our path to help our country.
Speaking specifically about the food bags, when people wait in line, and in the end we aren’t able to give them a food bag because we have run out; that breaks my heart. We have a limited amount of food bags for people, and we have to set some aside for families with great needs already connected to the ministry. It makes things so challenging. We look at each other wondering what to do. In the end, this whole process has humbled us.
I thank God especially for the ability to be a part of this blessing, because we as staff are also able to pass out a few bags to our own neighbors who have enormous needs. This help is so good; more than good, truly it’s amazing.
I have seen people line up for food bags since the day before, sleeping outside, despite the rain and sometimes chilly weather. They risk their safety in an area that isn’t considered the most secure in our city. When we see that, as staff members, we just think, “Wow, what are they going through for a small bag of food?” There’s so much need; we wish we could help everyone, but that’s simply impossible. In the end, this is such a help, such a blessing for our country, specifically here in Tegucigalpa.
Thank you to all of you who donate, and thank God for this ministry and for this ability to help in this way. God bless all of you.” - Rony
