Latest newsletter from Breaking Chains Honduras

Originally posted July 4, 2013

It has been a busy season at Breaking Chains Honduras, so we apologize for the tardiness of this update. As you will see in the latest newsletter, we have been busy coordinating summer groups as well as managing other ministry activities.

In this issue, please take note of the helpful new additions to our Sunday church service, our recent graduate from beauty school, and a little insight into the mentality of our ministry.

As always, thank you for your care and support of Breaking Chains Honduras. The work in Tegucigalpa could not be done without you. If you would like to give financially to the ministry, you may do so through the donate page of our website.

We look forward to seeing many more of you through visiting groups throughout the summer!

Bendiciones,

New addition for education sponsorship: Alba, our “little chicken”

Originally posted February 5, 2013

Meet Pollita. Her real name is Alba, but she is most commonly referred to by her nickname, which means “little chicken” in English. While she may not look like a little chicken to you, there is no denying this little girl’s cuteness and sweetness.

Alba’s mother has been a friend of Breaking Chains for years, but she had continued to live on the streets. She recently made the decision to move into the building following giving birth to her new son, David, in December. Now, she is working hard daily to make sure that she does what is best for her two little ones, including making sure that Alba receives an education.

Alba will soon turn four and is ready to begin pre-kindergarten. We would like to sponsor her for the cost of her uniforms and school supplies. The cost to sponsor “Pollita” is a one-time donation of $150. If you are interested in contributing, please email mail@bchonduras.org to let us know.

You can also check out the remaining sponsorships needed on the “education funds” link. Thank you for your continued support of Breaking Chains and these children. God bless!

Education update: Praises for being mostly sponsored! Some support still needed.

Originally posted January 30, 2013

God seems to constantly reveal his omnipotence to our Breaking Chains team. Just a few weeks ago, we asked for sponsors for 12 children to attend six different schools. As of today, we only lack full sponsors for three children and the upfront costs for one child.

Thank you to those who wanted to give a child a chance to break the chains of poverty in their lives and for their families. Four of these children have the opportunity to attend school for the first time and eight will be able to continue their educations with the help of your generosity.

We still have a few kids awaiting full or partial sponsorship:

Jonatan and Dayana still each need $100 monthly and $600 for one time costs.            Angi only needs $30 monthly and $100 upfront for her year in pre-K.                            Nayeli needs $600 for her upfront costs.

We are moved by your constant desire to further God’s work through Breaking Chains. We can’t wait to show you how these kids take your sponsorship and flourish in incredible ways academically and socially over this next year.

We appreciate how much you believe in these kids and want to help them succeed. We love each of them and can’t wait to see what this year brings for them. Please join us in prayer as these kids enter or return to a life of homework and hard work. Thanks again so much for your belief and support of these amazing kids.
